Terms of Service

Last updated: March 3, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Engineering Framework ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including individuals, teams, and organizations.

2. Description of Service

Engineering Framework is a structured engineering planning platform that provides checklists, definitions, and templates for software engineering artifacts. It includes integration with AI coding tools via a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, Git repository linking, and role-based access control for teams and organizations.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to access most features of the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.

Authentication is handled via Auth0. By creating an account, you also agree to Auth0's applicable terms and policies.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service to store or transmit malicious code, harmful content, or intellectual property you do not have the right to use
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable usage or harms other users

5. Content and Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all planning artifacts, documents, and content you create through the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights or violate applicable laws.

6. Third-Party Integrations

The Service integrates with or relies on third-party services including Auth0 (authentication), database hosting providers, and AI coding tools such as Claude Code. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third parties' terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

When connecting Git repositories or AI tools via the MCP server, you are responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate permissions and rights to those external resources.

7. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Planning artifacts and templates provided through the Service are intended as starting points — you are responsible for reviewing and validating all outputs before using them in production systems.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
